Varflex, manufacturer of electrical insulating sleeving, recently celebrated their 100-year anniversary at a gala event at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY. Some 300 guests were on hand to celebrate this significant milestone. New York State Senator Joe Griffo presented Varflex with a Legislative Resolution commemorating the 100th anniversary of Varflex Corporation. County Executive Anthony Picente Jr, presented a proclamation of Varflex Day in Oneida County.
Several recognition awards were given to employees who made a career at Varflex, some with up to 50 years of employment. Varflex staff put together a video and presented it to management in appreciation of the company’s family orientation. Retired VP Warren Williams, who worked closely with chemists helping to develop most of the company’s products, was also on hand as well as many other past employees who helped grow the company.
Marketing Coordinator Katerina Waterman who organized the event mentioned, “There were many different groups from many different companies—customers, suppliers and distributors from the US and Canada. We had quite a turnout and everyone had a lot of fun. It was a lot of work for me, but ultimately it was a great event.” Photos from the event can be seen on page x.
