NEOLA, IOWA — Heartland Harness, a custom wire harness and cable assembly manufacturer serving the agricultural, industrial engine, and heavy equipment industries, will host an open house on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to celebrate the opening of its new 10,000-square-foot facility at 105 Barrier Lane in Neola.
The new building marks a major milestone for the company following its September 2024 acquisition by Des Moines-based Auto-jet, which added Heartland Harness to its operations to bring custom wire harness and cable assembly capabilities to its base of more than 500 OEM customers.
The expanded Neola facility positions Heartland Harness to scale production of its three core capabilities: custom wire harnesses built for routing, protection, and durability in demanding environments; cable assemblies for high- vibration and high-heat applications; and mechanical assemblies that combine electrical and mechanical work under one roof for OEM customers. The facility includes newly purchased braiding equipment and new automatic processing machines that expand both capacity and capability.
“This new building gives us the space and the equipment to grow with our customers and bring on the team we need to keep up with demand,” said Kelle Vos, General Manager. “Being part of the Auto-jet family means Heartland Harness can offer existing and new OEM customers a deeper set of capabilities, while staying rooted right here in Neola.”
The new facility was built by Neola-based Zimmerman Sales & Service, owned by Wes Zimmerman, a family construction business serving the region for decades. Heartland Harness broke ground on the building in February 2025 alongside other Pottawattamie County family businesses investing in the future of the region.
Heartland Harness is actively hiring. Open positions, including Wire Harness and Cable Assembler roles, are posted at heartlandharness.com.
