Schunk Sonosystems, a global leader in ultrasonic metal welding, will host an industry open house on October 22–23, 2025, at the Howell, Michigan facility of MS Ultrasonic Technology Group. The event follows closely on the Automotive Wire Harness & EDS Conference in Dearborn (October 20–21), giving attendees an easy opportunity to extend their time in Michigan and experience a full program of live demonstrations, technical presentations, and networking.
The acquisition of MS Ultrasonic expanded Schunk’s portfolio beyond its long-established strength in ultrasonic metal welding. MS brings decades of expertise in plastic welding technologies to compliment the Sonosystems portfolio. Hosting the open house highlights both the integration of capabilities and the company’s commitment to engaging more directly with automotive and harness manufacturers in the region.
To broaden the event’s scope, Sonosystems will be joined by our colleagues and partners:
– Komax, bringing their Road Show Demo Truck and the latest cut, strip, and terminate solutions.
– Weiss Technik, a Schunk sister company, presenting advanced environmental test chambers for automotive validation. As well as other industries
– MS Ultrasonic Technology Group, Will showcase plastic welding systems alongside Sonosytems ultrasonic metal welders.
Across two days, visitors will see live equipment demonstrations, technical presentations, and Q&A sessions covering ultrasonic welding for both metal and plastic, environmental test solutions, and automated harness processing. Battery welding demonstrations are also on the agenda, reflecting Sonosystems growing role in electrification technologies.
Sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days, with lunch and refreshments provided. Admission is free, but advance registration is encouraged.
“We wanted to do something different—something that leverages the Howell facility and captures the momentum of the EDS Conference,” said Jeff Roman of Schunk Sonosystems. “By partnering with Komax and Weiss, we’re able to present a complete cross-section of technologies that matter to harness manufacturers and the broader automotive community.”
Conveniently located about 45 minutes from Dearborn, the Howell facility allows EDS attendees to add an extra day or two to their travel plans to gain hands-on exposure to solutions spanning welding, processing, and testing.
