On October 6 and 7, 2022, the first US Automotive Wire Harness & EDS Conference was held in Detroit, Michigan, the cradle of the U.S. automotive industry.
Bringing together OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, wire harness developers, high-voltage specialists, and other innovative suppliers, the wire harness conference is a unique information and industry networking gathering for the entire automotive wire harness community!
Following 10 years of successful working with the wire harness community in Europe, the conference expanded its reach into North America to help drive the development of wire harness and EDS systems, technologies, and innovations.
The conference was attended by 132 industry influencers who represented 61 companies. There were 13 partners and exhibitors, and 17 expert speakers gave insightful sessions. The sessions were led by company representatives of APTIV, LEONI, TE Connectivity, Sumitomo, Ford, Volkswagen, Yazaki, Infineon, Komax, Zuken, and Astotec.
The speakers’ presentations focused on demonstrating solutions, strategies and tools for cost reduction, safety issues in electrification, material efficiency, and onboard network architecture optimization.
Gustavo Garcia-Cota Managing Director for Telsonic Ultrasonics in the US said, “It was a great opportunity to really speak about advanced engineering trends and also the challenges that we are facing – the caliber of the speakers is just second to none. The biggest takeaway that we had from the conference was the networking opportunities. It’s very important to work together in a holistic way to address the challenges, needs and opportunities in the industry. We recognize there was really a need to have this in America and we were very glad to participate and co-sponsor the conference.”
