Lynxeo is a name that may not yet be familiar to North American manufacturers, but its presence is anything but new. For years, Nexans—one of the largest cable manufacturers in the world—has provided high-quality automation cables through private-label agreements with major brands. Now, with a dedicated effort to establish Lynxeo as a standalone brand, the company is making a direct push into the North American market, bringing decades of expertise and a globally recognized reputation for quality.
From Behind the Scenes to Center Stage
“People may not recognize the Lynxeo name today, but they’ve probably used our cables,” said Jay Swank, Business Development Manager for Lynxeo’s Automation Business Unit. “For years, we’ve been producing industrial cables for some of the biggest names in the automation industry, just under their branding. Now, we’re stepping forward with our own identity, and that’s an exciting transition.”
Lynxeo is the carve-out company from Nexans, which has long been an industry powerhouse, producing cables for a range of applications, from telecommunications to energy infrastructure. Lynxeo encompasses multiple vertical markets, each with its own catalog of specialized products. MOTIONLINE® is the catalog dedicated to automation and similar applications, ensuring high-performance connectivity solutions for industrial environments. The decision to push Lynxeo as a dedicated automation brand is a strategic move aimed at better serving customers in North America. “The industry is evolving, and manufacturers want to work directly with their suppliers, not through intermediaries,” Jay explained. “By bringing our brand forward, we can provide more direct support, better pricing, and faster access to our products.”
Unlike many brands in the cable production industry, Lynxeo controls its own manufacturing across 12 production sites on three continents. “We manufacture everything ourselves. That’s a major distinction in this industry,” Jay informed. “There are other competitors that position themselves in the market as manufacturers, but in reality, they are sourcing private-labeled cable rather than producing it themselves. Lynxeo is different. We own our production, which means we control quality from raw materials to final product.”
This approach not only ensures consistency but also allows Lynxeo to adapt quickly to industry demands. “Because we’re making the cables ourselves, we’re not at the mercy of a third-party manufacturer’s delays or quality issues,” Jay detailed. “We’re able to manage lead times, inventory, and performance standards to meet the needs of our customers.”

A Global Footprint with Local Commitment
Lynxeo’s global presence spans 30+ countries, with 2,000 employees supporting its operations. Key locations include:
Providence, Rhode Island, USA – A dedicated facility supporting the North American market with regional manufacturing.
Pioltello, Italy – The world’s largest automation cable factory.
Nuremberg, Germany – A historic facility with over 125 years of cable manufacturing expertise.
Suzhou, China – Supporting the rapidly growing Asian automation industry.
“We don’t just ship products internationally—we produce them regionally,” Jay said. “That means our North American customers don’t have to wait on European supply chains to get the cables they need. We manufacture right here, ensuring faster delivery and localized support.”

Beyond Just Another Cable Supplier
Lynxeo offers a diverse product lineup tailored for automation, robotics, and industrial control. Jay spoke earlier about one of the brand’s key product lines, MOTIONLINE which is designed for dynamic applications where cables must endure continuous motion, high speeds, and extreme flexibility. However, he was quick to point out that MOTIONLINE is just one piece of the puzzle. “We have an extensive portfolio beyond just high-flex cables. Whether it’s power and control, sensor and data, or hybrid solutions, we provide a full range of automation cables.”
Lynxeo also prides itself on engineering support, helping customers select the right cabling solutions for their applications. “We’re not just selling a product; we’re solving problems,” Jay differentiated. “Our team works directly with machine builders, integrators, and manufacturers to ensure they get the best-performing cables for their needs.”
Certifications: Clarity in a Complex Landscape
One of the common challenges in the industry is navigating certifications. “There’s a lot of confusion about what certifications really mean,” Jay noted. “Some people ask for every certification under the sun without understanding what’s actually necessary for their application.” He outlined Lynxeo’s straightforward approach:
- UL for the U.S.
- CSA for Canada.
- VDE for Europe.
- Additional regional certifications as required.
“Our job is to provide the right level of certification without unnecessary complexity or cost,” Jay said. “It’s about making compliance simple, so customers get what they need without overpaying for things they don’t.”
Looking Ahead
With its North American expansion gaining traction, Lynxeo is focused on building its brand presence and deepening customer relationships. “We’re here to do more than sell cables—we’re here to support manufacturers, integrators, and machine builders with high-quality solutions and direct service,” Jay stated. “Our goal is to be a trusted partner in automation, not just another supplier.”
As Lynxeo continues to carve out its space in the North American market, it is poised to redefine how automation professionals think about cable sourcing. Whether it’s for robotics, industrial motion control, or high-speed manufacturing, Lynxeo is bringing a legacy of excellence to an industry that demands nothing less.
